Caitlin Sparks, General Partner at FullCycle Energy Fund, is a recognized expert and pioneer in international clean energy development and climate change; environmental assets, markets, and policy; resource recovery and global sustainability initiatives.

Prior to joining FullCycle Energy Fund, Sparks founded and directed Sparks Energy Group, a consulting practice focused on the development of bioenergy and biofuels.

Sparks served as a founding Board Member and Executive Officer of The Bioenergy Association of California (BAC), an industry organization that promotes the sustainable development of bioenergy and biofuels from agricultural, municipal and forest sources.

She was Senior Vice President of Strategic Development for The Prasino Group, where she led a bioenergy consulting practice and identified sustainable energy and agricultural development opportunities.

As Director of Commercialization at Camco Clean Energy, Sparks managed the commercialization of a diverse portfolio of renewable energy, energy-efficiency and carbon abatement projects, throughout Africa, Europe and Asia. She helped identify and develop a first-in-kind pipeline of agricultural methane projects in the U.S.

As a Director at Gold Standard, Sparks proposed and led the growth strategy for Gold Standard’s entrance into U.S. and Latin American markets. She advised state, national and international policy-makers on carbon market mechanisms, sustainability initiatives and renewable energy development. She lectured extensively and led project development workshops in three continents.

Sparks possesses over 15+ year’s strategic business development acumen and has founded four companies, including Matternet Inc., a drone company named a 2015 Technology Pioneer by the World Economic Forum and “world-changing” by Google X.

Sparks studied religion and philosophy at Wesleyan University and evolutionary neuroscience at the University of California, Berkeley, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude. She researched the evolution of human cognition at Harvard University and studied emergent technologies and innovation at Singularity University. She lives in Oakland, CA and is an avid daily dancer.
